NBGO-Lex

The law firm NBGO-Lex started its activities on January 1, 2009 and has offices in Brussels and Antwerp.

Solid background

The three founders Roel Nieuwdorp, Carl Bevernage en Wilfred Goris, were associates from the beginning and later on partners of the law firm De Bandt. This firm would eventually become the premier Belgian law firm and set up a strong international network, known as the Alliance of European Lawyers.

When in 2001 De Bandt merged into Linklaters the three founders joined Loyens (&Loeff) with a view of assisting this top tax firm in adding an equivalent corporate law practice.

At the end of 2008 these three partners reached the contractual age limit. This provided an excellent opportunity to start their own law firm NBGO-LEX, relying on their widely recognized knowledge and experience.

As of October 1, 2009 Stijn Verbeke en Jens Van Hecke, two former Loyens & Loeff senior associates joined NBGO-LEX as partners. Stijn Verbeke had previously set up his own practice, whereas Jens Van Hecke worked for Loyens & Loeff in Brussels, New York, and most recently in Luxemburg.

Realistic ambitions

For NBGO-Lex the present economic climate is a rare opportunity to prove its added value.

The difficult situation of the financial markets and the economy, forces the multinational companies and local enterprises, as well as the national and regional authorities to match spending and earnings.
